Charles Patrick is shown above giving a presentation and lecture about the nineteenth century German adventurer Friedrich Schlecht and his book, ON TO TEXAS!, which describes his travels in Texas in 1848.  Mr. Patrick translated Schlecht's book (Mein Ausflug nach Texas) from German into English and published it in 1998.  This picture was taken at the Willrich Family reunion held in Hostyn, Texas on April 7, 2001.

Charles Patrick is a free-lance writer, researcher, and lecturer who lives near Austin, Texas.  He is available for presentations and lectures about his historical research.  Mr. Patrick concentrates primarily on the topics of frontier and immigrant history, culture, and genealogy in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
