Charles Patrick is a dynamic, multi-faceted person who has work experience, training, and interests in several fields. Charles presently lives and works in central Texas near Austin, the state capital. He grew up in a suburb southeast of Houston where he attended local public schools. His hobbies as a teenager included music (guitar and accordion) and outdoor activities. After graduating from high school, he headed for St. Louis, Missouri to attend St. Louis University for two semesters. He then transferred to the University of Texas at Austin where he majored in modern languages and minored in business. It was at the University of Texas that Charles began studying music performance as an elective, taking lessons on the harp from Gayle Barrington, professor of music. Since graduating from the University of Texas with a bachelor of arts degree (BA), he has worked not only as an independent translator, editor, freelance writer, and researcher but also as a resident translator and editor with a firm in Germany. In addition he has worked in accounting and physical therapy (PTA), a field in which he holds an additional degree (AAS) and a professional license. In 1990 Charles Patrick began his own publishing company (Patrick Publications), which now offers a number of publications in a variety of fields. He is also an independent historical consultant, researcher, self-styled literary archeologist, and lecturer. Please choose any of the following topics to find out more.
